Terms of Service

Rules for using Elektrine.

01 Acceptance

By using Elektrine, you agree to these rules. If you don't like them, close the tab and don't use the service.

02 What we run

Elektrine provides:

  • Email on Elektrine domains (@elektrine.com, @elektrine.net, @elektrine.org, @maidcorps.net, @waifuatomics.com)
  • Chat, voice/video calls, and direct messaging
  • A federated social timeline and image gallery
  • Encrypted password and file storage (Nerve and Soma)
  • Calendar, contacts, and search
  • DNS, Maid VPN, static site hosting, and related tools

03 Accounts

All you need for a normal account is a username and a password. We do not ask for your legal name, a photo of your government ID, or a phone number to verify who you are.

A recovery email is optional and is only ever used if you lock yourself out.

When botnets or spam waves hit the registration page, we may turn on a proof-of-work check, require an invite code, or require a Monero payment to make an account.

In rare cases involving severe abuse or valid legal orders, we still have to do what the law forces us to do.

04 Account rules

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • Keep your password and encryption keys to yourself. If you lose your client-side keys, we can't recover your data.
  • Let us know if your account gets compromised.
  • You can nuke your own account in your settings whenever you want.

05 Payments

Paid tiers and upgrades (Omega) are paid strictly in Monero (XMR). No credit cards, no banks, no auto-renewing traps.

06 Don't ruin it for everyone else (Acceptable Use)

We don't care about your politics or your private life, but we do care about our servers staying online and our IP blocks staying off blacklists. Do not use Elektrine to:

  • Break the law
  • Run a darknet market or buy/sell illegal goods and services
  • Send spam, phishing links, or unsolicited bulk mail (this gets our mail servers blacklisted by Gmail and Outlook, and we will nuke your account immediately for it)
  • Host or spread malware, botnet C2s, or ransomware
  • Harass, dox, or threaten people
  • Run scans, brute-force attacks, or exploits against our boxes or anyone else's
  • Cause real-world harm to people or property

07 Your content

You own whatever you make or upload here.

By using the site, you give Elektrine permission to actually store, encrypt, and route your data so the software works (for example, delivering your mail or federating your public posts to other servers).

Public posts and public profiles are visible to the rest of the internet. Don't put private things in public boxes.

08 Moderation

If you break these rules, spam the mail queues, or try to abuse the hardware, we will throttle or delete your account.

When we restrict an account, it is to stop spam, botnets, or security threats. We will never lock your account and demand a selfie with your driver's license to "verify your identity."

09 Uptime

We try to keep the boxes up 24/7, but uptime isn't guaranteed. Hardware fails, upstream transit breaks, and maintenance occasionally takes things offline for a bit. Keep local backups of anything you can't afford to lose.

10 No warranty

The software and servers are provided "as is." We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows.

11 Liability

To the extent the law allows, Elektrine is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that happen from you using (or not being able to use) the service.

12 Changes

We may update these terms as we add features or change how the servers run. Using the site after an update means you accept the new rules.

We will never quietly walk back the core account and zero-KYC registration rules in this document without putting up a massive, obvious public notice first.
