#eclipse

Whoever thought that giving #Eclipse two systems for installing and updating components (the Eclipse Marketplace and the Software Update Sites) was in any way a good idea should be taken out back and shot. Then revived, waterboarded, and shot again. It's fine to have the store as a idiot-GUI for discovering and installing extensions, but for all that is good and holy (which explicitly excludes Eclipse for aforementioned reasons), make "Check for Updates" actually check for updates like a normal person, instead of only checking for *some* updates.

The solar eclipse of August 12, 2026, from Lausanne, Switzerland. ☀️🌑 The eclipse reached 91%, and I captured it from the beginning to maximum, just before the Sun disappeared behind the mountains. This time-lapse is made from 144 × 30-second videos, each stacked and processed individually. Lunt 60mm + ZWO ASI678MM. 420mm, f7, 144 × 990 frames (142,560 frames total). #solareclipse #eclipse #solarastronomy #astrophotography #astronomy #telescope #space #sun

'E Clips March 2015, and a frustrating morning spent trying to image the partial eclipse from our home in Fife. I had a small success with a kitchen colander, but nothing I tried gave me a satisfying result. I went upstairs for a break and walked into my bedroom, where a crystal was hanging in the window. Spread across the bedroom wall were lovely rainbow crescents, dozens of them. For tomorrow, I have my telescope with a solar filter, so no worries! #eclipse #Scotland #Photography

My summer holiday is to chase the #solareclipse in Spain tomorrow with an RV. I am in the North of Spain for heat reasons. My current thinking is to chase the center path of the totality for #solar #eclipse duration reasons. #Luarca seems like a good spot but it's supposed to be a bit cloudy. The eclipse is relatively late so I need to take position on the sky into account as well.
