Hello Again, Friends. I must once again ask for your assistance. Just as my scheduled hours at work finally started picking up, my partner's hours at his job have dipped. I've also got to make a hefty ($250) auto insurance payment since we've been carrying a past-due balance for so long. I've got to keep that policy active so my partner can commute to work. We've been living in this apartment that we love for almost a year now, and we've only been able to do so because of the community here on the #Fediverse. Your generosity has subsidized our very survival. Unfortunately we still need your help. (I know. Trust me, we're tired of it too.) We're trying our best to get on our feet and life is really fucking frustrating sometimes. We get knocked down, but we get up again. You're never gonna keep us down. Anyway, we want to hang onto this amazing apartment but we can only do so with your support and generosity. Dammit I'm tired. So very, very tired. I desperately need to get my shit together but goddammit I'm so fucking tired. I promise you we're trying our best. Anyway.. I'm sure by now you all know the drill. We are grateful for every donation whether it's $5 or $500. Sadly we still need every single dollar we can get. My partner will be a ball of anxiety until we make it. Thank you in advance for your support. If you're willing AND able, please boost and if possible donate. If you can't donate, please *do NOT feel guilty* for being in the same boat as us. Your feelings about it are valid and understandable but rest assured you needn't feel bad. Hi everyone, Friends, I apologize for being somewhat absent here the last few weeks. I'm not sure what has been happening to me exactly, but the best way I can describe it is that I sort of "checked out" mentally. Despite everyday life recently seeming to be falling into place for once, I just can't seem to handle being alone with my thoughts. I can't even seem to concentrate on Mastodon or even just surfing the web. Music has little grip on me either. Basically I've either been working, sleeping, or binging on the various Star Trek spinoffs that I've fell behind on for the last thirty years or so. Anyway.. my point is, I've allowed this burnout to consume me to such an extent that we are now in dire need to raise the remaining funds for October's rent in the next 24 hours. This month's goal is only $1,200.. I say "only" because in comparison to the previous few months, this is roughly 25% less than normal. It also will cover our massive electricity bill that we inadvertently allowed to balloon out of control while we were attending to other crises and desperately needs to be reduced, and car insurance so our policy isn't cancelled this weekend. It is my sincere wish that we can keep this momentum going despite my weird mental status lately, and maybe go a month or two without begposting. I can promise you I look forward to that happening as much as you probably look forward to not seeing me constantly panhandling. Thank you all in advance for your help and support. We couldn't make it without you. If you're willing AND able, please boost and if possible donate. If you can't donate, *do NOT feel guilty* for being in the same boat as us. Your feelings about it are valid but rest assured you needn't feel bad. UPDATE: Good morning folks. We made some great progress the past few days but I'm getting worried as we draw closer to the deadline. This started with me hoping we'd somehow make it by midnight yesterday, and while we missed that goalpost we've still got a little bit more to go, and the sooner we make it the sooner I can extricate myself from the executive-paralysis I create for myself in any situation like this. ---------------------- Hello Everyone, My apologies for doing this even before I write an introductory post but it's almost 2:30am and I ran out of spoons about an hour ago. I'm on a new account but I still need to get rent covered so we don't incur massive late fees again like I did at the beginning of August.
