If you spend $200K each on ads that never mention crypto for 9 candidates who were guaranteed to win, and $64M on one competitive race which your candidate loses, you don’t get to claim your “90% win rate” proves Americans support your industry’s political goals. #crypto #cryptocurrency #USpol #USpolitics

Crypto and AI super PACs spent $250 million on the midterms. In competitive races, their candidates got clobbered: nine losses out of 12 called so far, including Ohio, where crypto spent $64 million and still couldn’t beat Sherrod Brown. https://www.citationneeded.news/2026-election-results/ #crypto #cryptocurrency #AI #artificialIntelligence #USpol #USpolitics #midterms

Crypto- and AI-focused super PACs have poured nearly $250 million into this year’s elections. Tonight we find out what it bought. Here’s my guide to the races to watch, where the money went, and which results could embarrass the industry: https://www.citationneeded.news/2026-election-guide/ #crypto #cryptocurrency #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #USpol #USpolitics #citationNeededNewsletter

“Polymarket referred the incident to UK law enforcement and pledged to reimburse affected traders. By Friday afternoon, it said 95% of affected wallets had been refunded. The company said it was returning $3.9 million in total: $2.7 million for stolen funds and another $1.2 million to cover losses linked to the trading pause.” #crypto

North Korea’s timing was inconsiderate; I’m in the middle of an election night guide to crypto and AI super PAC spending (subscribe to get it before Tuesday!). But I wrote up a primer on the Binance hack, answering questions I’ve gotten about North Korea: https://www.citationneeded.news/its-always-north-korea/ #crypto #cryptocurrency #binance #NorthKorea #DPRK

Hello Mastodon 👋 I'm Emiliano. I build small web things, and the newest is Sainteur, a free markets news site I'm working on: equities, crypto, startups, macro and politics in one place, with the sources linked under every story and no paywall or sign-up. It's early. Feedback welcome. https://sainteur.com #Introduction #Markets #Finance #Stocks #Crypto #BuildInPublic

Updated: Binance estimates its losses at ~$3B+, making this the largest exploit in crypto history — twice the size of 2025’s Bybit hack, now in second place. Binance blames a compromised devops laptop. North Korea, also behind Bybit, is the suspected culprit. https://www.citationneeded.news/binance-theft/ #binance #crypto #cryptocurrency

I wrote up what we know about the Binance hack so far. By my best estimate, Binance is out $1.5–$3 billion after stablecoin issuers froze what they could. Changpeng Zhao is promising Binance will cover it, but he’s legally barred from running the company. https://www.citationneeded.news/binance-theft/ #binance #crypto #cryptocurrency
