There's a type of reply-guy that crawls out of the woodwork when I post anything that might inspire others to take action, and they're deceptively insidious. Regardless of the topic, they sound like this: Alice: I don't own a gun because they're for killing and I'm not a fan of killing. Bob: Then only the bad guys will have guns. Alice: I deleted my Facebook account. Bob: If the good people leave then the bad guys win. Alice: I'm openly queer so others know they're not alone. Bob: You'll make yourself a target. In every instance, they defend the shitty state of things by discouraging action and change. It's a reply that is designed to support the default, the current power structure. It's a type of reply meant to de-fang movements. I've posted about this before, but apparently it bears repeating. Fighting for something takes energy. Change takes sustained energy and momentum. These types of interactions sap energy. They're not posting anything openly disagreeable, they're just dropping little doubt caltrops, little concern anchors—making it harder to keep fighting, harder to gain momentum. If you're about to jump into a thread and concern troll, don't. I'm fucking sick of it. The rest of us don't have the time or energy to drag your dead weight along. #ReplyGuys #Concern #Trolling #Change

#hawaii is getting a massive amount of #Hurricane in a short amount of time. This is abnormal and the work of #Climate #change. Things need to change now. #news

Chefs in Halifax are changing kitchen workspaces Chefs in Halifax kitchens are making efforts to improve workplace conditions and diversity to make the industry healthier and more appealing. They are trying to get away from the Hell's Kitchen image that so many people are familiar with.

Some departments in national defence, Armed Forces to toss bilingualism requirement A change by the federal government now means Canada’s national defence and Armed Forces units will use the language of the region they are in, meaning employees will only have to speak both French and English in places designated as bilingual.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social I hope you like it. There is a network of over 900 deep-sea sensors the Ocean Observatories Initiative monitoring ocean health, currents, and climate change that cost $368 million. Trump wanted to have it hauled up from the bottom of the ocean and destroyed Millions of dollars to break something he does not understand because he is still that unloved little snot kid laughing as he pulls the head off a doll a little girl was playing with. It didn't happen. #climate #change

Hey everyone I'm a blogger and independent journalist just writing and speaking a voice I'm a Mississippi Born just fighting for the better,as I'm more into Anti-authoritarian politics and social issues,it's tough to know what is going on with the political situation So I have to find a way to speak a voice for the better so I created the hood journalist,a digital only blog that will help speak a voice for the struggle, now my voice is not easy to speak about but I believe in change for the better,I wanted to use my voice and journalist style to speak what real and speak what truthful, life is never easy but it my mission to voice for the truth. Now I'm not doing it for the money I want to do this as my meal ticket my way out,and right now it is the only way to build something right and change for the better. #introduction #antiauthoritarian #anarchist #change

Today is just hard. I am still in a sense of deep #loss And something that I loved very. much is going through #change The change itself is beautiful, even gorgeous, but its change that I cant be involved in. So the #Sadness follows it. #trans #queer #lgbtqia #lifework

Brilliant to be out talking with residents about their concerns and issues and making the case for the #Change the #Labour government is delivering.

Just clocked out. Final day in this office - the last time I’ll work from this spot. Now everything becomes cardboard boxes: new city, new apartment, new office. Seven years here, and now new horizons. Next work call will be from the new place. #moving #lifechanges #change #home #homeoffice
