As we creep up on the end of the year, I'm creating an #introduction post because .. apparently I didn't have one :) I'm Dawgeth aka Matt. I'm a husband, dad, software architect, engineering manager, tinkerer, gamer, and generally curious person who has a hard time leaving well enough alone. A few things you'll find me talking about: #Technology - Software architecture, engineering, automation, and figuring out how things work. #Linux - Self-hosting, homelabs, open source, and running services just because I can. #Gaming - Steam, GOG, Xbox, and more .. I bounce around a lot! #Programming - Building little projects, experimenting with new ideas, and occasionally turning a five-minute problem into a weekend project. #Politics - Hanging out on the left, progressive, interested in local government, civic engagement, and making things a little better for everyone. #Community - Building spaces where people feel welcome, whether that's online, in the neighborhood, or around a table. #Makers - Small business adventures, creative projects, crafting, and supporting people who make things with their hands. #Gardening - Growing food, learning as I go, and maintaining the illusion that I know what I'm doing in the garden. #Family - A big family, a busy household, and plenty of reasons to appreciate the little things. I'm a firm believer that curiosity is a pretty good way to spend a life. I have too many interests, too many projects, and probably too many browser tabs open. Happy to meet new people, exchange ideas, talk shop, or just enjoy the occasional bit of internet nonsense. Here's to another year of figuring things out!

#ThreeGoodThings #3GoodThings

  1. Months ago, I hand wrote and mailed short notes to several people living in the same neighborhood to thank them for political signs that encouraged me by demonstrating there are good people even during dark times. A few of them wrote kind letters back to me.

  2. A few weeks ago, I hand wrote and mailed short notes to thank people who flew pride flags in their yards. One of them wrote back and I enjoyed reading her note today.

  3. I have a young and outgoing neighbor who inspires me with her outgoing personality and kindness. Today, I will begin writing more notes to neighborhood people to thank them for kind acts I have accidentally witnessed and perhaps for the flowers in their yards that I see while walking my dog.

Our humble attempt to let folks hear one another. Real Music, from real folks. Producers, Composers, Beat Makers, Remixers, DJ's, Singer/Songwriters NO ai! We need about 40 tunes to fill a 2 hour show. We'd really like rock with Fedi Artist in particularly. So send over what you'd like @brothersoul@mstdn.social to include on the show. And it's sorted. programming@labr.online Attention: Brother Soul & DJ UpNorth for Bandcamp Friday https://cal.labr.online/event/labr-presents-bandcamp-friday-o4-with-a-twist-with-brother-soul #labr #bandcampFriday #music #musicchannel

Hi DEV, I'm Farhan, a WordPress and full-stack developer from Karachi, Pakistan. I work at DotCamp on WordPress plugins and Gutenberg blocks: Ultimate Blocks (used on 50,000+ sites), Tableberg, GalleryBerg and SliderBerg. I also build Next.js and React apps. I joined DEV in 2023 and never posted, so this is the start. If you build with WordPress or Gutenberg, say hi in the comments.#introduction #wordpress #webdev #gutenberg #software #coding #development #engineering #inclusive #community Hi, I'm Farhan. #BostonWeekend hey if you're new, every week I read a couple events calendars, and make a thread of what looks good because you're busy with, gestures, 'all this'. I like nurturing our local #community - glue work keeps our local #fediverse scene vibrant. I don't get paid to promote events nor do I use AI to compile the thread - this is 100% stubborn subjective elder millennial output, I try to make it not suck. @ me with events I've missed or feedback✌️

Hallo zusammen, unsere Instanz wächst kontinuierlich weiter. #mastodon #fediverse #lgbtiq #trans #gay #lesbian #queer #community #safespace #spende
